What Will Holiday Prestige Sales Representatives Sell This Season?

For the current season, Holiday Prestige sales representatives will focus specifically on professional Christmas lighting and permanent outdoor lighting. Event lighting, pumpkin porch services, porch pots, and other website services are not the sales team’s focus for this season.

What Is the Difference Between Inside and Outside Sales?

Inside sales closes customers primarily by phone, text, email, video consultation, CRM follow-up, and remote proposal presentation, while outside sales meets customers at their properties and earns a higher commission rate for the additional time, travel, design responsibility, and in-person closing work.

IMPORTANT EARNINGS DISTINCTION

Outside sales receives a higher commission rate than inside sales and typically produces a 10%–30% higher ticket per sale because the representative can walk the property, identify additional opportunities, help the customer visualize a more complete project, and close in person. This describes the typical sales pattern, not a guaranteed result for every appointment.

INSIDE OR OUTSIDE SALES? APPLY NOW

The application lets you select Inside Sales, Outside Sales, or both.

What Does an Inside Sales Representative Do?

An inside sales representative converts inbound and follow-up opportunities without needing an in-person visit for every sale, which allows the rep to manage a larger lead volume and move quickly through calls, texts, proposals, and CRM follow-up.

  • Respond quickly to new leads and missed calls.
  • Qualify Christmas and permanent-lighting prospects by phone, text, email, or video.
  • Explain the service, process, value, product choices, and next steps clearly.
  • Present and follow up on proposals using Holiday Prestige pricing and sales standards.
  • Track every meaningful contact, next action, objection, and outcome in the CRM.
  • Re-engage old estimates and qualified past prospects.
  • Ask for the sale and collect required approvals or deposits through the company process.

What Does an Outside Sales Representative Do?

An outside sales representative meets homeowners and businesses onsite, designs and presents the right lighting solution, identifies opportunities that may not be obvious remotely, and confidently asks the customer to move forward.

  • Run scheduled residential and commercial consultations throughout Chicagoland.
  • Walk the property with the customer and understand what they want to accomplish.
  • Measure or document relevant rooflines, elevations, architectural features, and project areas when required.
  • Help customers visualize Christmas-lighting or permanent-lighting options.
  • Present professional proposals, explain value, handle objections, and close.
  • Accurately document the sold scope so operations can deliver what was promised.
  • Follow up with undecided prospects and maintain a disciplined pipeline.

Why Can Outside Sales Produce a Larger Ticket?

Outside sales can produce a larger ticket because an onsite representative can see the whole property, identify appropriate add-ons, demonstrate options, and make it easier for the customer to understand the value of a more complete design.

A customer who initially asks about one roofline may decide to include peaks, dormers, garages, trees, greenery, or additional architectural sections after seeing the full property with the representative. Permanent-lighting customers may expand to additional elevations or architectural runs when the rep can show them how the complete system will look.

Who Usually Succeeds in Holiday Prestige Sales?

Strong Holiday Prestige salespeople are responsive, organized, confident discussing money, comfortable asking for the sale, and disciplined enough to follow up without being micromanaged.

  • In-home improvement sales: roofing, windows, siding, gutters, solar, HVAC, remodeling, outdoor living, or landscaping
  • High-ticket retail or automotive sales
  • Inside sales, appointment setting, call-center sales, or strong phone-based closing
  • Outside sales, territory sales, or consultative field sales
  • People with a design eye who can help homeowners visualize an outcome

Do Salespeople Receive Leads?

Holiday Prestige invests in marketing and provides company-generated opportunities, but strong salespeople are expected to work the entire pipeline rather than wait passively for the next new lead.

  • Follow up on open estimates and undecided prospects.
  • Reactivate qualified past opportunities and previous customers when assigned.
  • Ask for referrals and identify appropriate neighborhood opportunities.
  • Keep next actions scheduled in the CRM until the opportunity is closed, lost, or disqualified.

Why Join a Company That Is Still Growing?

A growing company can create advancement opportunities faster than a company that has already decided exactly how many crews, territories, and managers it will ever need.

Holiday Prestige was founded in 2018 and remains hands-on and owner-led. The company has acquired two businesses over the past several years, is expanding its local service capacity, and plans to pursue additional opportunities in Chicagoland and outside Illinois as the right opportunities become available.

That growth can create hard-to-reach opportunities for employees who prove they are dependable, capable, coachable, and ready for more responsibility — from crew leadership and specialized installation to sales leadership, traveling teams, operations, and future market roles.

Can Inside Sales Advance Into Outside Sales?

Yes. A strong inside sales representative may move into outside sales when they demonstrate consistent follow-up, product knowledge, professional communication, accurate CRM habits, and the ability to close.

Because outside sales earns a higher commission rate and typically works larger tickets, it can become a natural advancement path for salespeople who want more field responsibility and greater earning potential.

What Holiday Prestige Expects From Every Team Member

Holiday Prestige hires for attitude, reliability, safety, professionalism, and the willingness to learn. Skill matters, but the best long-term employees are people others can count on.

  • A valid driver’s license is required — no exception.
  • Reliable personal transportation is required. Many job sites are not accessible by public transportation, and employees may need to report to different locations throughout Chicagoland.
  • Professional, respectful behavior with customers, coworkers, vendors, and neighbors is required.
  • Holiday Prestige maintains a drug-free workplace. Drug use, possession, or impairment during work is prohibited, and lawful screening may be part of the hiring process.
  • Alcohol may not be consumed during work, while operating company vehicles or equipment, or while representing Holiday Prestige. Employees may not report to work impaired.
  • Criminal background checks and driving-record checks will be conducted as appropriate for the role, with results evaluated in accordance with applicable law.

What Kind of Boss and Culture Do Blue-Collar Workers Usually Want?

Most strong tradespeople want a boss who understands the work, communicates clearly, pays attention to what happens in the field, expects high standards, and treats good employees with respect.

Holiday Prestige founder Phillip Herrejon comes from a blue-collar, hands-on operating background and remains involved in the business day to day. His management philosophy is straightforward: stay humble, work hard, take care of the people who take care of the company, and build relationships that can last beyond a single season or project.

Holiday Prestige is not trying to create a culture where employees are anonymous numbers. The goal is to build strong crews and long-term working relationships, while still holding everyone — including leadership — accountable for doing the job correctly.

How Can a Sales Applicant Stand Out?

A sales applicant stands out by showing real numbers, real examples, and real follow-up discipline instead of simply writing “I am a people person.”

  • What have you sold before?
  • Have you sold directly to homeowners?
  • What was the typical or largest ticket you personally closed?
  • Were your leads provided, self-generated, or both?
  • How do you respond when a customer says, “I need to think about it”?
  • How do you manage 30–50 open prospects without losing track of follow-up?
  • What motivates you to perform when no manager is standing over your shoulder?
